Some files may be missing. Reinstall the game and make sure antivirus does not delete any game files.

The launcher uses batch scripts (.bat files) which are often flagged as suspicious by antivirus software. All files from the official SmokePatch website are safe. Please whitelist the game folder (AV exceptions).
3. Lag or crash on laptops with dual GPU
Make sure Football Life runs on the dedicated GPU. Set this in your GPU control panel for both FL_20XX.exe and settings.exe.
4. Starting lineup looks wrong
This means the EDIT file is not installed. Reinstall as administrator and make sure the installer has access to Documents folder.
5. OneDrive access installation error
If Documents is cloud-only (onedrive documents), right-click the folder and select “Always keep on this device”. Then reinstall the game.
6. Cannot import PNG in Edit Mode
Start the game directly from FL_2026.exe, import PNG to team then save, close and relaunch normally from the main launcher (start).
7. Windows prevents saving map_teams.txt or sider.ini
Get admin access or move the file to another disk, edit and save, then move back.

yes, after manageing a team for one or two seasons, national offers will come depending on manager performance.
11. Does external mods break the game or updates
for the most part no, however database mods can easily break the game or causes various bugs.
12. is Football life complete and ready to play?
yes, FL is ready to play with all basics after successful installation, SP stadiums and faces can be added (optional due to large size), external mods can be added but at user risk.
13. is the away-goal rule removed in FL26?
yes, rules are correct and set per league in the database (not using sider lua), beware that database mods can break the rules.
